Managing Your Emotions: A Skills Training Class

Do you find that you get stuck in an emotion?
Maybe you get angry, bored, depressed, or anxious and just seem to stay there.  
Or maybe you get have an emotion and end up saying or doing things you regret later.  
What is an emotion anyway?  And why do they exist?

This class decodes the Eastern skills of Mindfulness and combines these skills with Western cognitive/behavior techniques. You will learn how to recognize emotions: how to distinguish between feelings, thoughts, and behaviors, and to act more effectively.  

Classes are usually begin in April and October.  We meet for 1½ hours on Saturday mornings at 10
  for 6 weeks.  I will focus on presenting material and teaching skills, and will encourage interactivity, questions, and shared experience.  
 
Course syllabus:
Week 1: What are emotions and how do they influence us. 
Week 2: Introduction to mindfulness, mindfulness practice.
Week 3: Feelings, thoughts, behavior and mindfulness.
Week 4: Regulating Emotions
Week 5: Tolerating negative emotions
Week 6: Acting Opposite to Emotion
